PPE Cinema: Fall 2022

The PPE Cinema brings together faculty, students, and members of the public to watch and discuss great films that raise questions in philosophy, politics, and economics.  Food and beverages are provided.

September 08, 2022 (6:30 pm): Metropolis

A pioneering silent film from 1927 by Fritz Lang, set in a futuristic urban dystopia. The film was inscribed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register.

October 06, 2022 (6:30 pm): Daratt (Dry Season)

A powerful parable from Chad about forgiveness and reconciliation after civil war. Grand Special Jury Prize at the 2006 Venice International Film Festival.

October 27, 2022 (6:30 pm): L’Eclisse (The Eclipse)

Michelangelo Antonioni tells the story of a love that’s doomed to fail due to the man’s materialist orientation. Starring Alain Delon and Monica Vitti. Special Jury Prize at the 1962 Cannes Film Festival.
